The NASA Institutional Scientific Collection (ISC) at Ames Research Center stores non-human biospecimens from spaceflight investigations and associated ground controls. The biospecimens are collected and made available for request through NASA’s ISC Biospecimen Sharing Program (BSP).
NASA's Ames Life Sciences Data Archive (ALSDA) has been shipping non-human samples to investigators since 1995, fostering research into the effects spaceflight may have on bone, muscle, development, the cardiovascular system, and on regulatory physiology, to name a few.
To learn more about biospecimens in the NASA Institutional Scientific Collection at Ames visit the website at https://www.nasa.gov/ames/research/space-biosciences/isc-bsp. To initiate an inquiry, submit an online data request at the NASA Life Sciences Data Archive.
