GeneLab Analysis Working Group (AWG) Showcase
Pre-registration is now open for the GeneLab Analysis Working Group (AWG) Showcase to be held in conjunction with the 35th Annual Meeting of the American Society for Gravitational and Space Research (ASGSR) meeting at the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel in Denver, CO November 20-23, 2019. The GeneLab AWG showcase will be held Tuesday, November 19th, 2019 from 1:00 - 5:00 pm and is open to all ASGSR conference attendees.
GeneLab is a bioinformatics repository that allows public access to data from experiments that explore the molecular responses of terrestrial biology to spaceflight environments. GeneLab has four AWGs comprised of scientific community members with expertise in bioinformatics: plants, animals (mammals/invertebrates), microbes, and multi-omics. The purpose of the GeneLab AWGs is to optimize the processing of raw omics data from the GeneLab repository in order to maximize the gain of new knowledge from such complex datasets. The AWGs assess and improve the effectiveness of the GeneLab Data System (GLDS) through intensive utilization of the analytics deployed therein. The AWGs have been instrumental in advising GeneLab on the development of standard pipelines for data analysis, as well as collaborating on the analysis of GeneLab data to understand the biological responses of tissues and organisms to the space flight environment. The showcase will feature talks by members from each of the four AWG groups, as well as a demonstration of the GeneLab version 4.0 visualization portal to be released in October 2019.
The preliminary agenda and pre-registration are available at https://www.xcdsystem.com/asgsr/forms/index.cfm?ID=uN4SrT8. This event is a separate registration from ASGSR and is at no additional cost, however space is limited. For more information on ASGSR 35th annual meeting click ASGSR 2019 meeting registration.
